An Observational Study of Hepatitis C Virus in Pregnancy


The purpose of the HCV study is to identify, with a first trimester blood screening, those women infected with HCV. Additionally, the HCV research study hopes to 1 ) find those factors which will make a mother more likely to pass on HCV to her baby, 2) estimate the number of women who have HCV, and 3) describe the outcomes of their pregnancies as well as the outcome of their children.

  • Less than 23 weeks and 6 days pregnant.
  • Singleton pregnancy.
