What is Tendonitis?

Tendonitis is inflammation of the tendon. A tendon is tough, elastic tissue that connects muscle to bones. Inflammation of a tendon causes pain, irritation and tenderness in that part of the body. The most common causes of tendonitis are overuse of a part of the body and age.

What is Bursitis?

Bursitis is inflammation of a bursa, a small sac of synovial fluid that reduces friction between tissues of the body.

Bursitis affects an estimated 8.7 million people in the U.S. It is usually caused by injury or by performing repetitive motions. It can also be caused by other conditions that cause inflammation, like arthritis.
