Visit Guidelines for Families and Friends

More about visits

Visitors may need special permission to visit certain units and procedural areas of the hospital. Please check with the patient and his/her medical team for more information.

We do not have set visiting hours. Family and friends are welcome to visit at any time, as long as the patient is OK with it. We do ask that only one person spends the night in the room.

Please note there will be times when people visiting will be asked to leave the patient’s room for safety reasons.

Visiting When You're Sick

If you are sick, it probably is not a good time to be visiting anyone in the hospital. However, we know that under certain circumstances you may need to be here. In that case, consult with the nurses on the unit for specific instructions.

When to Bring Children

Children coming to visit in the hospital must be supervised at all times. We want them to be safe while they are here. Please check in with the charge nurse on the unit if you intend to have children visit.

Smoking Areas

University of Colorado Hospital is a non-smoking facility.

Parking Changes at UCH Handicapped parking spaces are close to each building entrance. Each building has barrier-free access for wheelchairs and power-activated doors at the main entrance.

Free Valet Parking

Available at the main entrance to the Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion, the Anschutz Outpatient Pavilion and the Rocky Mountain Lions Eye Institute.

Gardenview Café

  • Ground level of Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion
  • Serves hot meals, sandwiches, soup and salad bar
  • 7 days a week
  • 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Courtyard Café

  • Ground level of Anschutz Outpatient Pavilion
  • Serves hot meals, sandwiches, soup and salad bar
  • Monday through Friday
  • 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Lobby Latte

  • Ground level of the Anschutz Outpatient Pavilion
  • Serves lattes and cappuccinos', gourmet brewed coffee, pastries and "grab and go" sandwiches
  • Monday through Friday
  • 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Vending Machines

  • Outside the Courtyard Café, ground level of Anschutz Outpatient Pavilion.
  • Next to the visitor restrooms on the ground level of the Anschutz Inpatient Pavilion.

Free wireless Internet access is available in all of the University of Colorado Hospital buildings on the Anschutz Medical Campus.
