AMC CANCER RESEARCH CENTER TEAMS UP WITH 240 UNION TO RAISE MONEY FOR THE FIGHT AGAINST CANCER

Lakewood, Colo. (Aug. 26, 2008)—For the eighth consecutive year, 240 Union Restaurant is teaming up with AMC Cancer Research Center to raise money to help fight cancer.

On Oct. 1, 240 Union will donate a portion of all proceeds from lunch and dinner sales to AMC. AMC is part of the exclusive University of Colorado Cancer Center consortium.

“We’re grateful for the generous support 240 Union has shown to AMC over the years,” said Joel Edelman , AMC executive director.  “As opposed to a special event, the public can support critical cancer research just by coming to 240 Union and enjoying an excellent meal on Oct. 1.”

AMC Cancer Research Center is dedicated to cancer prevention and control research and programs. Funding received from the 240 Union event helps support programs such as the Cancer Information and Counseling Line, a toll-free hotline that offers information and psychosocial support for cancer patients, their families and other members of their support team. AMC also is highly involved with supporting the University of Colorado Cancer Center’s LIVESTRONG Survivorship Center of Excellence grant—one of just eight grants awarded by the Lance Armstrong Foundation.

“We’re thrilled to kick off Breast Cancer Awareness month by hosting a day dedicated to cancer research.” said Michael Coughlin of 240 Union.
