Advanced Care Partners Internships*
Advanced Care Partners Internships at the University of Colorado Hospital provide employment opportunities to BSN nursing students who have completed their Med/Surg I clinical rotation. Advanced Care Partners will work under the supervision of a registered nurse in selected clinical areas, and function as CNA’s with additional specialized skills.

Orientation:Candidates accepted to the program must attend mandatory orientation, which takes place on December 15, 16, 17, and 18 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Other skills you'll learn:
- Place peripheral IVs; remove peripheral capped IV’s
- Perform phlebotomy
- Place and remove urinary drainage catheters
- Assist RNs with collecting patient admission data
- Perform sterile dressing changes
- Perform unit-specific skills such as:
- placing telemetry patches for monitoring
- applying orthopedic devices
- measuring output of chest tubes

Interviewing
- Applications will be reviewed after all four components (application/resume, questionnaire, clinical reference and transcripts) have been received by Human Resources.
- New applications will be reviewed every Wednesday throughout the application start and end dates.
- A Human Resources recruiter will conduct initial interviews with selected candidates.
- Human Resources will refer selected candidates to our Nurse Managers for a second interview.
- Out-of-state candidates can participate in the first and second HR interviews over the phone.
Offers
Human Resources will complete a review of references on your application before it extends any official offer.
