Eligibility Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing baccalaureate program (BSN).

    Please Note: Candidates enrolled in an Associates Degree-to-BSN or LPN-to-BSN are not eligible to apply to our Graduate Nurse Residency Program.

  • Must have completed Med/Surg I before program start date.

  5. ACP Clinical Evaluation – Please have your clinical instructor email this document to  careers@uch.edu, or fax it to (720) 848-6802 (RE: ACP Application). Please include your full name on this form.
  6. Unexpired American Heart Association CPR Card.

Interviewing & Offers

  • Applications will be reviewed by a recruiter after all four components (application/resume, questionnaire, clinical reference and transcripts) have been received in Human Resources.
  • Offers will be made contingent upon passing a post-offer, pre-employment physical examination.

About the Advanced Care Partners Program

Advanced Care Partners Internships* at University of Colorado Hospital provide employment opportunities to BSN nursing students who have completed their Med/Surg I clinical rotation. Advanced Care Partners will work under the supervision of a registered nurse in selected clinical areas, and function as CNAs with additional specialized skills.

Other skills you'll learn:

  • Place peripheral IVs; remove peripheral capped IV’s
  • Perform phlebotomy
  • Place and remove urinary drainage catheters
  • Assist RNs with collecting patient admission data
  • Perform sterile dressing changes
  • Perform unit-specific skills such as:
    • placing telemetry patches for monitoring
    • applying orthopedic devices
    • measuring output of chest tubes
