PHTLS Provider Course One-Day - Northern Colorado

PHTLS Provider Course One-Day - Northern Colorado

The PHTLS Provider course is an intensive 16-hour experience and is available to all levels of prehospital care providers. Programs are typically attended by emergency first responders (fire, police, search and rescue, etc.), EMTs, paramedics, nurses (including industrial based occupational health nurses), physicians, and physician assistants.

PHTLS is now offered in two formats, both of which are open to any student: 2 classroom days, or 8-hours of self-paced, online learning followed by 1 classroom day. Both formats result in 16 hours of continuing education for EMS providers and a PHTLS Provider card for those who successfully complete the course.

The 2-day format is scenario-based, with lectures and interactive skills stations designed to enhance the prehospital care providers' knowledge and further develop the critical thinking skills required to effectively treat the trauma patient in the field.

Students who prefer the 1-day classroom format will receive instructions on how to access the online curriculum on the NAEMT website. This online content must be completed prior to the scheduled classroom day. Class time will consist primarily of interactive, scenario-based skills stations and evaluation.
