Your doctor will usually be able to diagnose your rosacea by examining your skin.
Rosacea Treatments
Treatments for rosacea include:
- Antibiotics taken by mouth or applied to the skin to control the growth of bacteria and reduce the number of bumps and pimples (papules)
- Anti-inflammatory medications to reduce redness
- Eye-cleaning products to reduce redness in the eyes
- Glycolic acid peels to moisturize the skin. These are applied to the face for a few minutes every two to four weeks. You should avoid the sun for several hours after this treatment
- Laser surgery to destroy visible blood vessels close to the surface of the skin
