Midwifery Clinic: Philosophy of Care

University of Colorado Hospital's Center for Midwifery is one of the largest and most advanced midwifery practices in the Denver area.

We created the Center for Midwifery for women seeking personalized care and attention. Certified nurse midwives (CNMs) attend to your physical and emotional needs during pregnancy, childbirth, and the early parenting period. They provide gynecological services including annual well women examinations and contraception counseling. Our CNMs all have master’s degrees and are experts in women’s health issues, pregnancy and birth.

The Center for Midwifery provides high touch, holistic care within a state of the art facility located at the Anschutz Medical Campus. Midwives are experts in pregnancy and birth. They use evidence based approaches within a nurturing and supportive environment, where the focus is to celebrate the natural, healthy aspects of women.

What to Bring to Your Midwifery Clinic Appointment

  • Your photo or military ID.
  • Your insurance card or the name of your carrier; the plan, policy or group number; and the phone number of the insurance company. If covered by a spouse's policy, know your spouse's date of birth and Social Security number.
  • Your insurance co-pay, if applicable. For your convenience, we accept Mastercard, Visa, personal check or cash.
  • A referral form or number if required by your insurance carrier.
  • Previous medical records, or arrange to have them transferred prior to your scheduled appointment time.
