Midwifery Services
Why Choose University of Colorado Hospital for Midwifery?
The Anschutz Medical Campus is home to two of Colorado’s top regional midwifery practices, The Center for Midwifery (CFM) and The University Nurse Midwives (UNM).
The Center for Midwifery and The University Nurse Midwives are located in the Anschutz Outpatient Pavilion and offer full-scope care for women including prenatal, childbirth, postpartum, birth control, and well woman services.
All of our midwives are Certified Nurse Midwives (CNM), have Master’s Degrees, are board-certified by the American College of Nurse Midwives, and are licensed as Advanced Practice Nurses in the state of Colorado.
About Our Two Practices
Both midwifery practices work collaboratively within the OB/GYN department and can offer women and families many services including individualized care, group prenatal classes, childbirth education, lactation services, mental health services, and referrals to physician groups in other departments.

What Makes a Midwife Special?
Certified Nurse Midwives offer primary care for women across the lifespan from adolescence beyond menopause with a special emphasis on pregnancy, childbirth, and gynecologic health.
A Certified Nurse Midwife provides personalized safe care to women, health and wellness education, and counseling. Close attention is paid to a woman’s individualized needs and plans of care are developed together.
