Second Opinions for Thyroid Cancer Treatment at the University of Colorado Cancer Center

The University of Colorado Cancer Center is nationally recognized as a center for second opinions regarding all aspects of thyroid cancer.

Cancer is a major disease, and it's important that you feel comfortable with your treatment plan and your medical team. We encourage you to seek a second opinion if

  • you're uncertain or uncomfortable about your diagnosis or treatment
  • you feel you're not dealing with experts in thyroid cancer
  • you have questions that are not being answered, or symptoms that are not being addressed

Often, patients are referred to us for clinical trials or specialized radiation and/or medical oncology treatment.

To schedule a second opinion appointment for a thyroid cancer diagnosis, call (720) 848-2650 and ask for the in-take nurse.

What to Bring

You will need to bring the following to your appointment:

  • Any outside medical records relevant to your diagnosis
  • Doctors’ dictations
  • Pathology reports
  • Slides and images including CTscans, MRIs and PET scans, as well as reports of those scans
