Description

On October 31, 1963 President John F. Kennedy signed the Community Mental Health Act into law opening the way for transformative changes in our nation’s approach to mental illness, intellectual disability and substance use disorders.

We will celebrate the success of this landmark piece of comprehensive and compassionate legislation and address the considerable challenges that lie ahead to insure that all persons with mental illnesses, intellectual disabilities and substance use disorders are treated with dignity and respect.  This event will include a live stream of the keynote address at the Kennedy Forum Gala Dinner to be held at the JFK Library in Boston.

“The work begins anew, the hope rises again, the dream lives on” Senator Edward M. Kennedy
