Basic Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumping
This class is designed to provide nurses with the basic knowledge and skills to competently care for a patient receiving IABP therapy.
•Explain the principles of how an IABP works
•Identify how the IABP affects a patient’s hemodynamics
•List indications and contraindications for IABP therapy
•Operate the IABP console
•Identify correct and incorrect IABP timing
•Discuss nursing care considerations for the patient receiving IABP therapy

Payment is due upon registration. Registrations will not be accepted without payment. Walk-in registrations may be accepted if the class is not full and will require an additional $5 charge for materials.

Your tuition minus a $5 processing fee will be refunded if notified in writing 7 days prior to course. University of Colorado Hospital reserves the right to cancel an offering. A full refund would be made. Tuition cannot be transferred to another course.

Parking at the Anschutz Medical Campus is by fee or by permit only. Parking for this activity is available in the Ignacio, Georgetown, or Cheyenne Wells parking lots. All are indicated with a red X on the attached map. Cash/Coin/Credit Card accepted. Handicapped visitor parking is also available.
