This course provides nurses and other healthcare professionals a review of current issues and resources related to care of the geriatric patient. Topics will touch on the continuum of care from healthy aging through the end of life.

9:30 - 10:30- Panel Discussion: The Impact of immobility and
mobility on disease prevention & progression
10:30 - 11:30- Pharmaceuticals related to promotion of mobility,
prevention of bone disease, athritis, pain mngmt, Parkinson's disease, and medications that affect balance.
11:30 - 12:00-Safe Mobility at Home
12:00 - 1:00- Lunch Provided
1:00- 2:00- Older Driver Safety
2:00 - 3:00- Integrative Medicine approach to osteoarthritis,
rheumatoid athritis, sleep disturbances & urinary
incontinence; Thai Chi demonstration
3:00 - 4:00- Motivational Interviewing

6.5 CE’s Applied for Continuing Education. Contact hours will
be awarded to nurses who attend this program in its entirety
and complete the course evaluation.
