This course provides nurses and other healthcare professionals a review of current issues and resources related to care of the geriatric patient. Topics will touch on the continuum of care from healthy aging through the end of life.
Course Objectives
- Identify opportunities to improve care for the elderly through leadership
- Discuss the relationship between life style and healthy aging
- Discuss the identification, management, and prevention of dementia
- Discuss improvements in the management of medication for seniors
- Identify tools to respond to elder abuse
- Discuss programs and resources to facilitate transitions of care
