Beginning I Medical Spanish

The Beginning I Medical Spanish Course is designed specifically for Healthcare Professionals in direct contact with Spanish-only patients. Medical Assistants, Registered Nurses, Physicians, and Physician Assistants constitute the majority of our students. It is an opportunity to become comfortable with conversational Spanish and medical vocabulary. The class will cover greetings and goodbyes, patient introductions, basic interview skills, common cold and flu symptoms, body parts, pain and injuries, vital signs, basic medical vocabulary, numbers, telling time and units of measure. A great place to start learning!
- Recognize proper greetings in Spanish
- Correctly utilize verbs Estar & Tener to communicate common symptoms
- Describe patient assessment findings in Spanish
- Utilize present tense verbs to explain simple activities and instructions in Spanish

Payment is due upon registration. Registrations will not be accepted without payment. Walk-in registrations may be accepted if the class is not full and will require an additional $10 charge for materials.

Your tuition minus a $10 processing fee will be refunded if notified in writing 7 days prior to course. University of Colorado Hospital reserves the right to cancel an offering. A full refund would be made. Tuition cannot be transferred to another course.

Parking at the Anschutz Medical Campus is by fee or by permit only. Parking for this activity is available in the Ignacio, Georgetown, or Cheyenne Wells parking lots. All are indicated with a red X on the attached map. Cash/Coin/Credit Card accepted. Handicapped visitor parking is also available.
