This symposium is designed to provide intensive workshops on research methods, literature critique processes, and writing for publication, to registered nurses and other healthcare professionals.

Description

This research forum has proven to be an extraordinary contribution to the professional growth of nurses and other health care professionals.

The range of topics presented through workshops, podium, and poster sessions is broad and represents the diversity of research and evidence-based practice initiatives being conducted in a variety of clinical settings.

We look forward to continued collaboration and success in discovering and strengthening relationships that promote research and scholarship in clinical practice.

Program Objectives

Following this symposium, the participant should be able to:

  1. Generate ideas about changes in practice, education, and administration that could improve patient outcomes in the future.
  2. Describe the variety of healthcare research and evidence-based practice projects through podium presentation sessions.
  3. Identify strategies, tools, and resources for successful clinical research and evidence-based practice initiatives.
  4. Examine research and evidence-based practice changes presented by poster sessions.

Intended Audience

Professional healthcare providers and students in fields of practice or study of nursing, medicine, nutritional services, pharmacy, social work, rehabilitation services, respiratory, occupational and physical therapy, and other healthcare related areas are invited.

The Colorado Action Coalition Collaborates in the Implementation of the Institute of Medicine/Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Future of Nursing Recommendations
The Colorado Action Coalition has prioritized the eight IOM/RWJF Future of Nursing Recommendations. Co-leads have been identified for each of the eight and these subgroups ahve begun to meet to develop strategies for the implementaiton of the recommendations. Discover how you can assist in these critically important activities.

Continuing Nursing Education Credit: Continuing nursing education contact hours are pending and will be awarded to participants who attend the course in its entirety and complete an evaluation.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: In order to communicate and secure our numbers with the hotel, we must close registration at 10PM on February 25, 2012. Registrations will be accepted at the door, but a $10 fee will be assessed.

PARKING

Parking in the garage adjacent to the hotel will be free of charge to Symposium attendees. Should you decide to use this option, be sure to bring your parking ticket into the front desk of the hotel for validation at the front desk. If you do not to do this, you will have to pay $5 upon exiting the parking structure.
