UCH Scores High in Academic Hospital
Quality Rankings

According to the latest clinical outcomes report from University HealthSystems Consortium, six "product lines" at University of Colorado Hospital ranked first in mortality rates among the academic hospitals reporting for the April-June 2008 quarter.

Rated number one in mortality rates - which translates to "patient survival rates" - for that quarter were UCH's gynecology, gynecology/oncology, kidney/pancreas transplant, liver transplant, lung transplant, and obstetrics services.

And there's more: data for the annual reporting period July 2007 to June 2008 shows that University of Colorado's gynecology, gynecology/oncology, kidney/pancreas transplant, obstetrics and trauma services ranked in the first percentile in mortality rates among the Consortium's reporting academic hospitals.
