Ranked in the top 5 percent in the nation for nursing excellence
The American Nurses Credentialing Center has designated the University of Colorado Hospital as a "Magnet" hospital three consecutive times, placing us in the top 1% for nursing excellence in the world.
UCH has earned "Magnet"
status from the American
Nurses Credentialing Center three
consecutive times.
For our patients and their family members, it means that our team of 1,200 nurses represents excellence in clinical care and innovation in professional nursing practice.
Outstanding nurses recognized by peers
In the last 10 years, nearly 100 of our nurses have been nominated for the esteemed Nightingale Award from the Colorado Nurses Foundation. These individuals are recognized as outstanding nurses; as effective advocates for patients, families, and staff; as leaders in their profession; and as role models for excellence in delivering patient care.
One of the most highly educated nursing staffs in the country
Eighty percent of our direct-care nurses have earned a bachelor's or a master's degree. Seven of our nurses have PhDs. They are highly trained, compassionate and actively engaged in leading clinical research.
