New Executive Director Named for Bard Center for Entrepreneurship at University of Colorado Denver Business School
DENVER (Dec. 5, 2007) - Sueann Ambron, Dean of the Business School at the University of Colorado Denver, has announced the appointment of Catherine Kunst as executive director of the Richard H. and Pamela S. Bard Center for Entrepreneurship.
Dr. Kunst received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Emory University in Atlanta. She also received her Master's in Business Administration with an emphasis in entrepreneurship from the University of Colorado Denver. Dr. Kunst has been serving as the Interim Director of the Eleanor Roosevelt Institute at the University of Denver since the fall of 2005. In 2006, Dr. Kunst co-founded Beacon Biotechnology, LLC, which creates diagnostic microarray devices for both the point of care and research markets. She also has several years of teaching experience in the academic community.
"Dr. Kunst brings experience from an entrepreneurial career in biosciences to the Bard Center," said Dean Ambron. "She has research, teaching, fundraising and business experience. We are delighted and fortunate to have a director with such relevant experience working as part of our team."

The Richard H. and Pamela S. Bard Center for Entrepreneurship is located in the historic Masonic building in the heart of Denver's business district on the 16th Street Mall and was established in 1996 as a vehicle to help foster economic opportunities in the Denver metropolitan area. As part of the Business School at the University of Colorado Denver, the Bard Center fosters and promotes new business opportunities, advancing the teaching, study and practice of entrepreneurship and new venture creation. The Center provides students with opportunities to create partnerships with the business community through academics, mentoring, and a variety of programs designed to drive entrepreneurial development.
